Sushi in Tsukiji @ やまざき

The top omakase for 3675Yen gets you some properly fresh sushi. There were some shrimp like creatures amongst the fish that were still alive. They were moving around a LOT! While the fish was excellent, the rice was a bit disappointing. It was quite cold, which took away from the quality of the fish a little bit. The best piece was the Uni. I think it's the hardest piece of Nigiri to properly make, but he did a good job not overdoing the amount of Uni on top.
Another good point was the friendly chef and the emptiness of the restaurant, which meant I got to chat with a korean couple and with the chef. And it also meant  I didn't have to wait in line for 90 minutes to go to the neighbouring restaurants, whom seem to be the most popular sushi bars in Tsukiji. They had about 3 times as many people waiting outside as there are sitting in the bar, which meant waiting lines of about 90 minutes.
All in all a great breakfast spot in Tsukiji for people who don't want to wait very long. It only gets 3 stars on tabelog, which is very low on there, but I think this restaurant deserves a bit more credit than it gets.

Sushi in Tsukiji/Higashi Ginza @ 築地玉寿司 晴海通り店

~3100Yen chef's selection. This made me really happy. Not all the rice was as warm as it should've been which was a shame, but the fish was EPIC. The weird Salmon Ikura combination rocked and just melted in my mouth. Must've been fatty Salmon.
The Uni was also outstanding. Perfect amount of Uni and fortunately enough here the rice was warm and thus there was a good contrast between the warm rice and cold Uni.
Too little wasabi and rice that was a bit on the cold side was unfortunate, but still a very solid sushi meal!

Sushi in Tsukiji @ すしざんまい 別館

A good value lunch set menu for ~1500Yen including a tiny salad and a Miso Soup. It was 9AM in the morning, so the fish should've been superfresh, straight from Tsukiji, instead I must've been served yesterday's fish.
I still thoroughly enjoyed the meal, but only because I had not eaten Japanese sushi for 3 months. The Miso Soup was good though.
